Through multidisciplinary integration and deep local roots, the hospital has established a comprehensive health-care chain that spans from newborns to senior citizens, focusing on maternal and child care, geriatric medicine, and the implementation of smart technology.
In the field of maternal and child healthcare, KMU Gangshan Hospital continues to expand its capacity in northern Kaohsiung. Centered on providing a "more reassuring birthing experience," the hospital has introduced Sensory Dynamics Rooms (SDR) and Labor, Delivery, and Recovery (LDR) rooms to enhance privacy and psychological comfort for expectant mothers. By combining IoT-enabled smart diaper detection, the hospital delivers more instantaneous neonatal care—bringing smart technology directly into delivery rooms to transform traditional childbirth and parenting care models. To date, 435 newborns have been delivered at KMU Gangshan Hospital. Additionally, the hospital has invested heavily in manpower and funding to build a professional pediatric emergency and critical care team, making it the only regional hospital in the Gangshan area to provide 24-hour pediatric emergency services.
Child healthcare has been further extended to families and communities. Through child development assessments, fluoride treatments for dental health, and family-bonding events like Zhuazhou (the traditional first-birthday grab) and baby crawling contests, healthcare is no longer confined to the clinic but is integrated into a family's growth journey. It provides premium, comprehensive health examination services for the TSG Hawks baseball team and many neighboring corporations. Assisted by regular health checks and advanced imaging diagnostic equipment, the hospital has established a well-rounded model for preventive medicine and sports healthcare.
Furthermore, KMU Gangshan Hospital continues to deepen its local connection by actively participating in vaccine inoculations and cancer screening services. In January this year, it officially signed sister-hospital cooperation agreements with three affiliated hospitals of Tokushima University in Japan. The anniversary ceremony kicked off with a vibrant drum performance by Heping Elementary School, symbolizing KMU Gangshan Hospital's ongoing commitment to safeguarding the health of northern Kaohsiung residents with vitality and warmth. The event also welcomed the Perfect Medical Group, who traveled all the way from Vietnam to exchange ideas with the hospital. The hospital management stated that the second anniversary is not just a milestone, but the starting point for countless miles to come. Moving forward, KMU Gangshan Hospital will continue to implement smart healthcare and practice ESG sustainability principles, ensuring that medicine is not just about treating diseases in the moment, but about long-term companionship and responsibility.
