-Kaohsiung Municipal Cijin Hospital-
Kaohsiung Municipal Cijin Hospital has long been dedicated to community engagement and elderly care, focusing not only on health management but also on enriching the spiritual well-being of seniors. Against the picturesque backdrop of Kaohsiung Harbor, the hospital organized a special wedding photography event for the elderly, fulfilling the youthful dreams of many seniors who never had the chance to wear a wedding dress.
In the past, weddings were often simple and understated, with many couples foregoing wedding photos due to frugality or other reasons, leaving lingering regrets. This time, in collaboration with the Kaohsiung Port Authority, the hospital invited seniors from eight C-level alley stations in the Cijin area to dress up for the occasion. Students from Kaohsiung Municipal Sanmin Vocational High School of Home Economics & Commerce and Lichih Senior High School assisted the seniors with makeup, carefully styling their silver hair, adjusting wedding attire, and patiently accompanying them through the transformation. As the students looked at the radiant seniors in the mirror, they felt the happiness that transcends time and understood the significance of care and companionship. This event not only fulfilled the dreams of the elderly but also showcased the beauty of intergenerational harmony.
At the Kaohsiung Cruise Terminal, the atmosphere was filled with anticipation and excitement. Though they missed the chance to dress up in their youth, the years spent together made their love stories even more touching. Mr. Yang and his wife were among the participants. Although they never took wedding photos when they got married, they have supported each other for most of their lives. Mrs. Yang still harbored some regret, but as she donned the wedding dress and smiled shyly, those regrets faded away. She jokingly mentioned that her mother-in-law was strict with money back then, preventing her from having her own wedding photos. Now, she feels incredibly fortunate to create such beautiful memories here.
Many seniors brought cherished jewelry from home, including ornate gold bracelets and pearl necklaces, each hoping to be the most dazzling star of the day. After dressing up, the seniors admired each other, sharing laughter and joy, as if time had turned back, rekindling the youthful excitement of boys and girls.
With the gentle sea breeze and shimmering waves reflecting the passage of time, sunlight bathed the seniors in white gowns, radiating a unique glow different from their youth. This day left not only beautiful photos but also warm, everlasting memories. Long-term care is not just about medical treatment and assistance; it's about ensuring that seniors have a dignified and joyful later life. In the future, Kaohsiung Municipal Cijin Hospital will continue to promote local long-term care, allowing every senior to enjoy a comfortable and happy silver-haired life in their familiar homeland.
