To ensure players maintain peak physical condition ahead of the new season, the head coach of the TSG Hawks, Hung Yi-chung, recently led the entire coaching staff and players to Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital Gangshan Hospital for their annual routine health examinations. Through comprehensive and systematic medical evaluations, the team aims to gain early insight into players’ physical conditions, providing an important basis for training adjustments and injury prevention.

The health check program included general internal medicine examinations, electrocardiograms (ECG), ultrasound scans, blood tests, and biochemical analyses. In addition, Hospital Superintendent Huang Hsuan-ti specially arranged for all coaches and players to undergo low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) lung scans. While ensuring radiation safety, the LDCT enhances early detection of lung diseases, demonstrating the hospital’s strong commitment to the healthcare of professional sports teams and allowing coaches and players to focus on high-intensity training and competition with greater peace of mind.

Notably, the hospital introduced northern Kaohsiung’s most advanced imaging diagnostic equipment for this examination—the “1,152-slice computed tomography scanner.” Featuring high-resolution imaging, rapid scanning, and low radiation dosage, the system provides more precise visualization of the heart, lungs, and other vital organs, significantly improving the accuracy of early disease detection. This initiative delivers a top-tier, medical-center-level health screening process for the TSG Hawks.

Superintendent Huang Hsuan-ti stated that professional athletes endure long-term high-intensity training and competitive pressure. Regular health checkups supported by advanced imaging technology help detect potential health risks at an early stage and establish a comprehensive preventive medicine and sports healthcare model. Moving forward, the hospital will continue leveraging a multidisciplinary team to provide more comprehensive medical support, helping athletes extend their careers and enhance competitive performance.

Head Coach Hung Yi-chung emphasized that the health of coaches and players is the team’s most valuable asset and expressed gratitude to Gangshan Hospital for its comprehensive medical resources and professional services. As the team officially moved into the spring training base at TSG University of Science and Technology in early January 2026 and became new neighbors with Gangshan Hospital, both sides will enjoy closer and more immediate collaboration in sports medicine, health management, and injury prevention—working together to build a safe and efficient training and medical support environment for the new season.
