Jin Loves Kidneys, A Smooth Life with Kidney Health – Warm Chronic Disease Care in Cijin

The sea breeze on this island always carries a hint of salt and endless inclusiveness. On this land of Cijin, gently embraced by the ocean, time flows peacefully with the rhythm of the tides. Behind this tranquility stands a group of guardians in white coats. As part of the Kaohsiung Medical University healthcare system, Cijin Hospital is not only a place for treating illness, but also the most reassuring beacon of health in the daily lives of island residents.

For chronic disease care, we have always believed it is a long-term companionship that requires patience and warmth. In recent years, our hospital has actively promoted the “Triple High Prevention 888 Program.” This is not merely a medical policy, but a heartfelt commitment to every elder and resident. Through precise, compassionate, and systematic follow-up and integrated care mechanisms, we have achieved outstanding enrollment and management outcomes in chronic kidney disease (CKD), diabetic kidney disease (DKD), and diabetes mellitus (DM) among regional hospitals in the Kaohsiung–Pingtung area. We have woven complex medical management into a gentle safety net called “peace of mind,” supporting every life in need of care, transforming chronic disease prevention from cold numerical indicators into grounded, community-based health protection.

However, the warmth of healthcare should never remain confined within clinic walls. This spring, we brought this care into the community by participating in the “2026 World Kidney Day – Love Your Kidneys, A Better Life” health fair. This event was a collaborative effort with partners from the Kaohsiung Medical University system and multiple healthcare institutions across southern Taiwan. We understand that complex medical terminology can be intimidating, so we transformed serious health education topics—such as controlling the three highs, early screening, and proper medication use—into engaging interactive activities and patient-centered consultations. Through inter-hospital collaboration, we stepped into the community, raising awareness and prevention of chronic kidney disease in an accessible and engaging way. This was not only a dissemination of kidney health concepts for all ages, but also a gentle movement to integrate health promotion into everyday life and strengthen local community health capacity.

As the setting sun casts golden reflections over the sea, the lights of Cijin Hospital continue to shine for the community. We will carry forward the professionalism and humanistic care of the Kaohsiung Medical University system, safeguarding every heartbeat on this island. On the journey toward health and a “smooth life with kidney health,” we are willing to be the steady and gentle sea breeze, accompanying every resident forward with stability and care.
