Throughout the history of the Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) system, "Persisting in dreams, daring to challenge, and lifelong learning" has always been our guiding belief. Since its founding in 1954, KMU has grown from a local medical school into a leader in healthcare, education, and research, forming an extensive network that includes Kaohsiung Medical University, Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital, KMU Gangshan Hospital, KMU-managed Kaohsiung Municipal Ta-Tung Hospital, KMU-managed Kaohsiung Municipal Siaogang Hospital, KMU-managed Kaohsiung Municipal Cijin Hospital.

Persisting in Dreams, Moving Forward
KMU has made significant strides in epidemic prevention, cancer treatment, medical research, holistic care, and elderly care. Notable achievements include the development of innovative air sampling technology to combat avian influenza, a new antibody platform to enhance immunotherapy, and receiving 13 national innovation awards. These successes highlight our commitment to advancing medical science and improving healthcare.

Daring to Challenge, Embracing the Future
KMU continually adapts to the evolving medical landscape. From implementing integrated care models under national health insurance to pioneering treatments for dry eye disease, our work demonstrates innovation and responsiveness to societal health needs. KMU Gangshan Hospital has also developed a comprehensive maternal and child care model, contributing to medical equity.

Lifelong Learning, Creating Sustainable Value
KMU values lifelong learning and encourages cross-disciplinary collaboration. We are leading sustainable healthcare efforts, developing eco-friendly medical practices, and advancing elderly care services. Our university social responsibility (USR) initiatives continue to make a global impact, supporting rural and international communities alike.

Looking ahead, KMU is committed to further advancing medical education, healthcare services, and sustainable practices through innovations in AI, big data, and regenerative medicine. We aim to establish Southern Taiwan as a leading hub for medical innovation, with a focus on holistic care and global health.
